Pressed or Squished Penny History: According to multiple sources, the first documented pressed penny was made at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois, from 1892-1893, to celebrate Columbus’s discovery of America.
Pressed Pennies services locations all over Australia. At some of Australia’s most famous and popular tourist locations.
The penny press machine gradually evolved from a very basic (and sometimes unreliable) machine to what we have today… a 5th generation, or what we now call the “Next Generation” Penny Press. There are currently 70 machines. Below are the states where the machines were installed.
Currently, in stock, there are approximately 60,000 blank pennies spread across machines and locations, with another 150,000 in the workshop, and about 3000 collector books that sell through the website and to locations that sell through their gift shops.
